BookmobileThe bookmobile will travel throughout the valley portion of Douglas County visiting parks, schools, the Douglas County Community & Senior Center, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, daycare centers, and other locations where residents may gather. Who can use the bookmobile?

Everyone is welcome to visit the wheelchair-accessible bookmobile and participate in its programs. A Douglas County Public Library Card is required to borrow items. Library cards are free and will be available from the bookmobile.

What can I borrow?

The bookmobile will have a variety of items for all ages including: best sellers, popular fiction, non-fiction, audiobooks, movies, TV series, documentaries, music, and educational games.

What types of formats will be available?

Large print and regular print books, movies on DVD, books on CD/MP3, and music on CD are available for loan.

What if I want to borrow something that isn’t on the bookmobile?

You can request items from the Minden or Zephyr Cove branches and pick them up at the bookmobile. You can also borrow books from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan or request that a new item be purchased for the bookmobile.

How long can I keep the items I borrow from the bookmobile?

Everything checked out from the bookmobile will be due in four weeks. You may renew one time if no one else is waiting for the item.

How can I return items borrowed from the bookmobile?

Items can be returned to the bookmobile, Minden Library, Zephyr Cove Library, or at any of the Library’s book drop locations: Sunridge Fire Station, Douglas County Community & Senior Center, Topaz Ranch Estates, and Kahle Park.

Will the bookmobile offer programs for the public?

The bookmobile will offer storytime, school class visits, and other instructional programs for all ages throughout the year.
