The Douglas County Community Relations Team proactively supports the County's mission and strategic communications objectives. Together, we enhance the County's visibility, image and reputation through the prompt release of information. Community Relations provides county service information to residents, businesses, visitors and media through Programs, County Newsletter, Civic Engagement, Press Releases, Media relations and public information during activation of the Emergency Operations Center, Managing the County Website and Social Media Platforms, Acting as a liaison between private, public and non-profit organizations with-in Douglas County.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office
The Douglas County Community Relations Team also proactively supports the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. Together, we enhance the law enforcement visibility, and assist in keeping the public safe through the prompt release of public safety information. The team also supports the Sheriff's website and Social Media.
Media Requests Outside Normal Business Hours:
On holidays and after normal business hours, call Douglas County Manager's Office at 775-782-9821 to be routed to the correct department/confirm basic breaking news details or email [email protected]. Dispatchers provide basic information and advise if a public information officer has been called to the scene. Dispatch will direct you to the appropriate Public Information Officer depending on the nature of the incident.
