Is Spring cleaning and tax time presenting sensitive documents you need to dispose of securely? Come to the Sierra Nevada Chapter of ARMA’s 10th bi-annual Shred Event coming Saturday, May 1st in Minden!
Douglas County Records Management and the Sierra Nevada Chapter of ARMA invites you to participate a shred event in Minden on Saturday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1621 US Highway 395 North.
The shred event provides an opportunity to securely dispose of paper documents you no longer need—documents that could put your personal information at risk if simply thrown in the trash. Throwing away documents with basic personal information such as name, address, or even partial account numbers could be risky. Examples of paper documents that you may want to shred include, but are not limited to, unwanted:
• Medical records
• Bank statements
• Credit card statements
• Copies of processed checks
• Investment account statements
• Pre-approved credit card offers
Unbound paper and electronics will be accepted at the shred event, but no plastic or box TVs, please.
Sierra Nevada Chapter of ARMA International—a community of professionals in the records and information management industry serving Northern Nevada—is hosting the free event.
Donations are welcome, and all proceeds go to Between Horses and Humans, a nonprofit organization based in Douglas County that provides youth a place to learn leadership and life skills through horsemanship.
Event sponsors include Iron Mountain, providing the paper shredding service, ComputerCorps for recycling of electronics and CalNeva Realty as the location sponsor.
