Young At Heart (YAH) is the non-profit fund raising arm of the Douglas County Senior Center. Funds are raised to sponsor programs and projects approved by the YAH Board of Trustees that benefit seniors of Douglas County, NV, help with the operation of the center and fund replacement equipment for the Center.
Programs sponsored by YAH include: Senior Exercise Classes, Parkinson’s Support Group and Exercise, TOPS, two Bridge Groups, the Soup Program, Meals on Wheels and more. In addition, the Young at Heart Board has recently approved replacement and upgrade of the audio-visual system in the DCCSC Dining Room and replacement of equipment in the Senior Center Kitchen.
In order to support senior programming and the needs of the Douglas County Senior Center, Young at Heart has fundraising events throughout the year. We have activities in which the seniors enjoy Holiday celebrations with a raffle basket. We have a spring Trunk Sale/Craft Fair, summer Ice Cream Social and Bingo, Monthly Bingo, Holiday Craft Fair, Big Mama's Show and Shine car show , Holiday Gift Bags for Home Bound Seniors, a free Holiday lunch for all Young at Heart Members, Concerts, Dances and other activities.
We also have our Gift Shop, located in the Douglas County Senior Center lobby where we have over 150 vendors, selling homemade items, such as jewelry, knitted items, hand made dolls, blankets, candy and more. 15% of every sale raises funds for YAH.

Become a Member!
YAH membership is only $10 per year. Anyone can join YAH, regardless of age!
Please join or re-new your membership today by coming into the Douglas County Senior Center and visiting the Young at Heart Gift Shop, open Monday-Friday 9:00am-1:00pm. Membership may also be purchased at many of our annual events and fundraising activities. Membership includes free admittance to several Young at Heart Member Events each year.

The YAH Board is always looking for passionate and active people (ages 55 and over) to join us in the planning and implementation of our fundraising activities. Board Members serve a term of 2 years. Attend Young Heart Events
You do not need to be a member of YAH to enjoy our activities. Tickets for concerts and events are advertised on our Facebook page and website and can be purchased at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center. Shopping at our craft fairs or stopping by our booth at the Active Living Health Fair or the Concert in the Park are great ways to find out more about what we do while supporting our endeavors.
